Although California does not currently participate in NC-SARA, it does not require registration for out-of-state public or private non-profit institutions without a physical presence in California. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. For more information on SARA, visit nc-sara.org.

SARA – the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement – is an agreement between member states, territories and districts of the United States of America. As of July 2019, 49 states (all but California), the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have joined SARA.

As an approved SARA institution, University of Arkansas Grantham only needs Kansas Board of Regents approval to offer distance education to students residing in other SARA member states. University of Arkansas Grantham is approved by the Kansas Board of Regents, became a member of SARA in November 2014 and has maintained approval since that time. The Kansas Board of Regents serves as the portal agency for Kansas SARA.
