In late 2021, Grantham University joined the University of Arkansas System and is now the University of Arkansas Grantham.
Rooted in its mission of extending access to education, Grantham will continue to offer more than 60 fully-online degree and certificate programs to thousands of adult learners in Arkansas, across the country, and worldwide.
The new University of Arkansas Grantham is now better-positioned to enhance its programs, and meet the needs of our growing, diverse student body. Starting in 2022, new graduates will receive University of Arkansas Grantham certificates or diplomas – credentials backed by the strong reputation of Arkansas’s premiere higher education system.

General Questions
Why is Grantham joining the University of Arkansas System?
The University of Arkansas System and Grantham University share the mission of making education more accessible. Joining the University of Arkansas System opens many opportunities for Grantham University. Supported by the resources, faculty, and staff of the University of Arkansas System, the new University of Arkansas Grantham will remain a provider of choice for adult learners, active-duty military service members, and veterans. UA Grantham will continue to stand out as one of the very few institutions extending reduced tuition rates enjoyed by military service members to public-sector heroes including first responders, patient-care providers, and government employees.
Will the University of Arkansas Grantham maintain its accreditation?
Yes. We do not expect changes to accreditation status; we continue to work closely with the various accreditors and government agencies to ensure and maintain compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.
Will the University of Arkansas Grantham be offering doctorate programs?
While we do not have plans to offer doctorates in the near term, we continue to evaluate the demand for them, and will announce new programs as they receive the necessary approvals.
Will the university continue to provide a laptop at no cost for every new student who enrolls in a degree program?
Yes. Although the laptop program is subject to change at any time, we intend to continue the laptop program, which is in alignment with our mission to make education more accessible and better-enable student participation in online classes. By increasing access to technology and learning tools, we’re making it easier for students to persist and complete their degree program.
How will students benefit from this transaction?
The transaction joins Grantham’s best-in-class online higher education platform with the infrastructure and resources of the University of Arkansas System – a respected university system. We anticipate the transition to be beneficial for the entire Grantham community.
Will Grantham be renamed?
Yes. Grantham will join the University of Arkansas System as the University of Arkansas Grantham.
What is the process of joining the University of Arkansas System?
Senior leaders from the University of Arkansas System and Grantham continue to be fully-engaged in transition work. There is no immediate impact to Grantham’s faculty, staff, or students; current operations at Grantham continue unchanged.
Who will lead the new university?
The university will be led by Grantham’s Interim President Lindsay Bridgeman, who has assumed the role of Chancellor, University of Arkansas Grantham.

Graduates
I graduated from Grantham University in 2021 or earlier, and need a new copy of my certificate or diploma. Will it be available from University of Arkansas Grantham?
The University of Arkansas Grantham will fulfill requests for transcripts and copies of diplomas or certificates by graduates and students who attended Grantham University. Graduates who completed their program in 2021 and earlier will be issued Grantham University diplomas and certificates. Students graduating starting in January 2022 will receive University of Arkansas Grantham diplomas and certificates.
Can I list the University of Arkansas Grantham as the institution I earned a degree from?
We recommend to all students that have graduated from Grantham University to make no change to the way they present their academic credentials, to avoid potential confusion.
Will my official transcripts be issued by University of Arkansas Grantham?
Yes, official transcripts will be available to graduates, former students, and current students from the University of Arkansas Grantham. The official document, issued by the University of Arkansas Grantham, will clearly state whether credits or credentials were earned while the university operated as Grantham University.
What will happen to my student records?
Your student records will be maintained by, and available from, the University of Arkansas Grantham.

Current Students
Will my tuition change?
We do not expect to make any changes to tuition rates. We are committed to keeping tuition affordable for our students.
Will the University of Arkansas Grantham change the length of its academic terms?
In the near future we do not foresee changes to the academic calendar; we know students prefer shorter, focused terms, and any future adjustments to the academic calendar will be guided by this preference.
I will graduate soon, what will be listed on my diploma?
Starting in January 2022, new graduates of our programs will receive a University of Arkansas Grantham diploma or certificate. Individuals completing their course of studies prior to January 2022 will receive a Grantham University credential.
Will current students need to re-apply for admission?
No; all enrolled students who wish to continue their programs of study will continue their program with the new University of Arkansas Grantham.
Will existing programs and offerings continue without interruption?
Yes, there will be no impact to students’ degree progression or our offerings in any way.
Will my class schedule remain the same? Will my class materials and resources change?
All current class schedules and available courses continue unchanged; all class materials and resources will remain the same and are available to you.
Will my tuition or financial aid be affected?
Your current tuition rates, scholarships, grants, or financial aid will not be impacted by this announcement.
Will this affect my prior coursework? Will this affect my degree?
All of your prior coursework will remain valid and your current degree progression will not be affected. Starting in January 2022, new graduates will receive a University of Arkansas Grantham diploma or certificate.
Will credits for all courses taken at Grantham transfer to University of Arkansas Grantham?
Yes. Credits for all courses taken at Grantham University are honored by the University of Arkansas Grantham.
Will degrees be issued by Grantham University or by the University of Arkansas Grantham?
Diplomas, transcripts, and student records for graduates and former students of Grantham University will continue to be available from the new University of Arkansas Grantham. Beginning in January 2022, new graduates who completed their programs starting in 2022 will receive a University of Arkansas Grantham diploma or certificate.
