Grantham University Named a Top 20 ‘Military-Friendly’ School

Kansas City, Mo. – December 30, 2008 – Grantham University, (www.grantham.edu), an online university that has served active duty military and veteran students for over 60 years was selected by Military Advanced Education (MAE) as one of America's "Top 20 Military-Friendly Colleges & Institutions" for 2008.
Grantham University was selected as a "Top 20 Military Institution" based on military enrollments, military-friendly policies, and scholarship programs for active duty, guard, reserve, veterans and military family members.
Grantham University was founded by a veteran in 1951 topovide educational opportunities to veterans returning from WWII.
"Over 60 years later, we are honored to continue serving the men and women of the United States military and their families," said Dr. Greg Garcia, dean of military programs and outreach at Grantham University. "The military community has unique challenges and unique needs, and we work hard to maintain flexible programs and policies that support the mission of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen and Marines and their families."
Grantham offers flexible online programs, textbook and technology grants, affordable tuition, scholarships, monthly starts, and faculty and staff that understand the unique challenges of military students.
Scholarship Programs include:
- Scholarships for active duty, guard, reserve, veterans, and family members
- Severely Injured programs for wounded warriors
Grantham University participates in the Go-Army Ed and Marine Corps Academic Explorer programs; The Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative program; has been recognized as a provisional school in the Navy College Distance Learning Program, and was recently admitted to the National Association of Institutes for Military Education Services (NAIMES).
Military Advanced Education is the only publication that links Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen and Marines with military-friendly colleges and universities. Grantham was also named as one of the Top 30 Military Friendly Schools by Military Advanced Education Magazine in 2007. Grantham's 2008 selection in the Top 20 is featured in the December issue of Military Advanced Education.
