FAQs

When will I receive my laptop?

After completion of the sign-up process, allow 2-4 weeks for fulfillment. Due to COVID-19 supply chain and logistics difficulties, delivery may be delayed in certain parts of the country.

Do students enrolling in a certificate program qualify?

No. A laptop is not provided to students enrolling in a certificate program. Only student enrolling in an Associate, a Bachelor’s, or a Master’s degree program are eligible to receive the laptop at no cost.

Do students receiving a scholarship qualify?

Students on full scholarship may not be eligible for participation in the program.

What if the laptop gets lost, damaged, becomes inoperative, or arrives damaged or inoperable?

Devices damaged in shipment will be replaced: follow the instructions provided in the packaging material for how to contact Technical Support. Technical Support is provided by Microtek, our program technology partner — not University of Arkansas Grantham. Please contact Microtek at (303) 650-0543 for technical support. The University will not replace a laptop in the event of an accidental damage or loss not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Can students wait to log on to their classes until they receive their laptop?

No; students must have an adequate computer and internet access when the term starts. Students who require a device prior to the start can acquire a laptop via the bookstore. Class participation and substantive interaction requirements still apply.

Is the laptop offer available to students who enrolled and started classes at Grantham before June 2021?

Grantham’s Technology Program began in June 2021. Students who began classes prior to June 2021 or who did not opt into the program, will not retroactively receive a laptop. Students that have started taking classes at Grantham prior to June 2021 and need a laptop should contact their Student Advisor for assistance with ordering a laptop through the bookstore.

Can students sign up for the laptop and start later in the year?

No. We cannot promise that this program will be available later in the year. Enroll now and get started in the next available term!

Do returning students and alumni qualify for the offer?

Yes, as long as they complete a new Enrollment Agreement, enroll in the next available term, are still registered past the add/drop period, and have at least four classes required for program completion.

Must students participate in this program or sign the Education Technology Agreement?

No, this is an optional program, but a student who does not sign the Education Technology Agreement before beginning class(es) may not be able to receive a laptop later.

Do students get to keep their laptops?

Yes, if they meet the terms of the agreement. To keep their laptops, students must complete their first two terms, meaning they must receive a letter grade. Students will be asked to return the laptop if they withdraw in their first or second term, or if they do not enroll in their second term.

How do students return their laptop?

If students fail to meet the terms of the agreement, they will be required to ship the system back to our fulfillment center, or pay for the cost of the laptop to Grantham, estimated at $450.00.
