Blackboard – How can I log in directly to my class without having to log in to GLife first?

If you prefer to log in to your class on Blackboard without having to go through the portal, just go to https://lms.grantham.edu.

Blackboard – How do I change my displayed courses in Blackboard?

  1. Move your mouse to the top right corner of the “My Courses” list. Click on the gear that appears.

 
  1. You will be directed to the personalization page. From here, you can select which courses you want to display, as well as instructor, course and task information. In this example, we will remove the Grantham Orientation course from our display by unchecking the “Course Name” box.

  1. Click on the “Submit” button.

  1. You will be redirected to your Blackboard home-page. Your changes will now appear in the “My Courses” list.

Blackboard – How do I submit an assignment?

How to submit an assignment

  1. Select your course from the “My Courses” list.

  1. Within the course, click on the “Assignments” link.

  1. Select the link for the week you are submitting for.

  2. Select “Browse My Computer.” Navigate to your assignment and select it for uploading. Once uploaded, select the box next to “Plagiarism Tools” to submit your paper to the global reference database.

  1. Click on “Submit.” Once the submission is finished, you will be taken to a new page confirming your submission.

How to Submit an Additional Assignment Attempt  
  1. There may be times where you must submit an assignment again (e.g., uploaded an incorrect file). First, access your assignment by clicking on “Assignments” within your course.

  1. Click on the assignment link.

  1. You will be directed to a preview page of your assignment. Click on “Start New” to submit an additional assignment attempt.

  1. You may now resubmit your document. If necessary, use the “Add Comments” text box to provide a reason for the resubmission.

  1. Click “Submit.”

  1. After submission, you will see the new assignment labeled as “Attempt #.” You may switch to previous attempts for viewing if needed.

Blackboard – How do I install the Blackboard mobile app?

  1. Using your device, access the appropriate online store such as the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Search for Blackboard and install the app on your device. You can identify the Blackboard app with the following symbol.

  1. Open the application. You will be prompted to search and enter the name of your institution. Search for “University of Arkansas Grantham” and enter your GLife username and password.

Blackboard – How do I toggle the sidebar menu in Blackboard?

If you are currently in a Blackboard course but cannot see the left-side menu (see screenshot below), you may need to toggle the menu.

 
  1. Hover your mouse on the left side of the course to make the toggle arrow appear.
 

  1. Click the toggle arrow to make the menu appear. Additionally, you can click the arrow again to hide the menu.

 
  • Note: If you followed the steps above and do not see a toggle arrow, you may need to decrease the zoom on your browser. This can be found in the following locations.

Courses – How do I download software from the Azure web store?

  1. Select the Azure web store from the “Quick Links" section on the GLife home page.

  2. You may be prompted to log in to your Office 365 account. Once you have logged in, you will be shown the home-page for Microsoft Azure.

  3. Select “Software.”

  4. Once in the software menu, you may search for your software.

  5. Select your software and you will see a new window. This window will contain both a download link and an option to view your key code.

  6. Click “Download.” Once completed, you may install your software and activate it with your provided key.

How do I access the bookstore?

 
  • Navigate to the student portal (GLife).
  • Log in to the student portal.
  • Scroll down to the section called “Textbooks and Gear.”

  • Click the button called “Grantham Bookstore.”

Courses – How do I upload and view a file in cPanel?

  1. Access cPanel by using the following URL: username.gucsdept.com
(Replace “username” with the username you were given in your cPanel email.)

  1. Log in with your provided credentials. You will be prompted to change your password after your first log in.

  1. Click on “File Manager.”

  1. Once in your file manager, select the “public_html” folder.
 

  1. Click on “Upload.”

  1. Click on "Select File." This will allow you to navigate and select your html file.

  1. Once selected, a progress bar will appear. The file has been uploaded when the bar displays 100% completion.

  1. To confirm the URL for your file, return to the public_html folder. Your recently uploaded file should now appear.

  1. Right click on your file and select “HTML Edit.”

  1. Note the provided URL for the file and click “Cancel” to return to your file manager.

  1. Open a new browsing window and type the URL into your address bar. You can now confirm if the file and URL are properly working.

General – How do I clear my cache and temporary internet files?

How to Clear Cache and Temporary Internet Files

Note that if you are clearing your cache and temporary internet files in order to access a website, you should not currently be accessing that site. For example, if you wish to clear your cache for https://glife.grantham.edu, ensure you browser is not currently on that location.

  1. Click on the settings option on the top right of you Chrome browser.

  2. Hover over “More Tools” and then select “Clear Browsing Data.”

  3. On the following pop-up, select “Advanced,” set the time range to “All Time” and checkmark the first four boxes.

  4. Select “Clear Data.” You will be taken to the main settings page of Chrome once all cache and temporary internet files are cleared. Once complete, close and reopen your browser to begin a new session.
Firefox (using version 68.0.1) 
  1. Click on the settings menus.

  2. Select “Options.”

  3. Click on “Privacy and Security”, locate “Cookies and Site Data” and select the option to “Clear Data”.

  4. Select “Clear.” A confirmation will be displayed. Select “Clear Now” from the confirmation.

Internet Explorer (using version 11.615.17763.0) 
  1. Select the settings wheel.

  2. Select “Internet Options.”

  3. Within the Internet Explorer options, locate “Browsing Data” and click on “Delete.”

  4. Ensure the following options are selected and then click “Delete.”

Microsoft Edge (using version 44.17763.1.0)
  1. Click on the settings option on the top right of the browsing session.

  2. A new window will appear. Select “History.”

  3. Select “Clear History.”

  4. Ensure the first four options are selected and then click “Clear.” You will be given a confirmation message when temporary internet files have been cleared.

Safari (using version 12.0.3)
  1. Open your Safari browser.

  2. Select “Preferences.”

  3. A new window will appear. Select the “Advanced” tab and then click on "Develop". Within this drop-down menu, select the option to “Empty Caches.”

  4. You may also want to clear your internet history and website data. To do this, select “Clear History” in your Safari browser. Select the time range and then select “Clear History.”

General – How do I add my Grantham email to my Android device?

Step 1: From inside your Gmail app, tap the account icon in the top right corner. Then tap Add another account.

Step 2: Select Google from the list shown.

Step 3: Enter your Grantham email address in the indicated field and tap Next.

Step 4: Read the notice and tap Accept.

Step 5: You will be redirected to the GLife home page. Enter your GLife username and password and tap LOGIN.

Step 6: You will now see your newly synced Grantham email account at the bottom of your account list (below any previously synced accounts). Tap to access the account. You will be able to switch between your synced accounts at any time by tapping the round icon in the top right corner to access the account list.

General – How do I add my Grantham email account to my iPhone?

Step 1: On your iPhone go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts.

Step 2: Select Add Account.

Step 3: Select Google.

Step 4: Enter your Grantham email address in the indicated field and tap Next.

Step 5: You will be redirected to the GLife home page. Enter your GLife username and password and tap LOGIN.

Step 6: Select which Grantham items you want to sync to your iPhone (Mail is required to sync your email messages but the other items are optional) and tap Save.

Step 7: In the Mail app, you will now see your newly synced Grantham email account at the bottom of your inbox list (below any previously synced accounts). Tap the inbox to access the emails.

General – How do I download and install Office 365?

  1. Go to GLife.grantham.edu.
  2. Click on the Office 365 link on the right under Quick Links.

  3. Enter Grantham email address.
  4. Click "I’m a student."

  5. Fill your first and last name and create a password. A verification email will be sent, enter the verification code. Enter your date of birth and click "Start" at the bottom.

  6. Click "Skip" on the next page.
  7. You should be taken to the Office 365 user page.

  8. You can use the online Office versions or click "Install Office" to download the software.
  9. Follow the instructions to install.

GLife – I attempted to log in and received the account lockout page. What do I do?

If you have found yourself on the “Account Lock” page, your account has been locked for too many incorrect login attempts. Don’t worry, this is a security feature to keep student accounts secure and it will unlock in three minutes. Once this time has run down, you may attempt to log in again. Attempting to log in before the timer runs down will reset the lockout time to three minutes.

I don’t remember my username and/or password.

   

I know I am using the correct username and password.

  • You can receive the lockout page if you are using a bookmark to GLife.
  • When logging into GLife, there is session data attached which can be transferred to your bookmarks.
  • We recommend not using bookmarks or using a bookmark that just goes to the https://glife.grantham.edu without any data attached to the URL.

GLife – I forgot my password, how do I reset it?

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by visiting the Password Management Page, which will walk you through the process. This link can be found on the main login page by clicking on "Forgot Password."

  1. Type the personal email address you have on file with University of Arkansas Grantham and press the "Submit" button. This email is where your verification code will be sent.

  2. You will receive an email from University of Arkansas Grantham with the subject line “University of Arkansas Grantham Verification Code” shortly. Please note this could take up to five minutes for the email to reach your inbox.
  3. You will want to stay on the page until you have received the email and reset your password.
  4. Type your verification code on the password reset page. If your verification code is correct, you will be redirected to enter your new password.

  5. Create a unique password to enter into the password box.1 The bar below the box will tell you how strong your password is. Your password must comply with the password rules on the page.2

  6. Enter your new password one more time in the "Confirm Password" box and press "Submit."
  7. If this was successful, you will receive a confirmation message on the page and you will receive an email in your inbox letting you know your password has been changed.
   

GLife – I forgot my username. How do I find out what it is?

If you have forgotten your username, you can retrieve it by visiting the Forgot Username Page, which will walk you through retrieving your username. This link can be found on the main login page by clicking on "Forgot Username."

GLife – How do I create a GLife bookmark?

Creating a bookmark normally can cause issues with you signing into GLife. We have outlined steps below on how to properly create a bookmark to GLife to avoid these issues.  

Chrome

  1. Navigate to https://glife.grantham.edu.
  2. To the right of the URL in your browser, click the star icon.
  1. Click the “More” button.
  2. Edit the name to what you would like.
  3. For the URL, erase what it has and add the URL https://glife.grantham.edu.
  4. Click "Save."
 

Firefox

  1. Navigate to https://glife.grantham.edu.
  2. To the right of the URL in your browser, click the star icon.
  3. Edit the name to what you would like.
  4. Select the folder where you want the bookmark.
  5. Click "Done."
  6. Find your newly created bookmark, right-click on it and go to properties.
  7. For the Location, erase what it has and add the URL https://glife.grantham.edu.
  8. Click "Save."
 

Edge

  1. Navigate to https://glife.grantham.edu.
  2. To the right of the URL in your browser, click the Star icon.
  3. Edit the name to what you would like.
  4. Select the folder where you want the bookmark.
  5. Click "Done."
  6. Find your newly created bookmark, right-click on it and go to "Edit URL."
  7. For the URL, erase what it has and add the URL https://glife.grantham.edu.
  8. Click "Save."
 

Internet Explorer

  1. Navigate to https://glife.grantham.edu.
  2. To the right of the URL in your browser, click the star icon.
  3. Click the button “Add to Favorites.”
  4. Edit the name to what you would like.
  5. Select the folder where you want the bookmark.
  6. Click "Done."
  7. Find your newly created bookmark, right-click on it and go to properties.
  8. For the URL, erase what it has and add the URL https://glife.grantham.edu.
  9. Click "Save."

Safari

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, click the sidebar button in the toolbar, then click the bookmarks button.
  2. Enter the bookmark name in the search field at the top of the sidebar. You may have to scroll up to reveal the search field.

  2. Click the "Add" button.

Transcripts – How do I get an unofficial transcript?

An unofficial transcript is University of Arkansas Grantham's non-certified statement of your academic record provided by University of Arkansas Grantham’s registrar's office. To request an unofficial transcript, contact your student advisor or you can print your own through Self Service in GLife.

Transcripts – How do I obtain an official transcript?

An official transcript is University of Arkansas Grantham's certified statement of your academic record. We use the National Student Clearing house (https://tsorder.studentclearinghouse.org/school/select) to process all official transcript requests. You can find the links to order an official transcript from our main website in the FAQ section: How do transcripts work at University of Arkansas Grantham? Prospective students are responsible for reporting all previously attended colleges and universities for which they wish to have earned credits evaluated for transfer into a University of Arkansas Grantham degree program. Students wishing to transfer credit must have official transcripts on file and evaluated prior to course registration. Students/alumni seeking a copy of their official transcripts from Grantham can order the transcripts through our Transcript Ordering Center. Or from GLife in the quick links section:

When you get to the Nation Student Clearinghouse Site, search for “University of Arkansas Grantham.”

The next screen will review the processing fees for the transcript request. Click on the “Order Transcript(s)” button to being your request.
