By Grantham University
2016 marks the seventh consecutive year the University has received the G.I. Jobs recognition.
Lenexa, Kan. – November 16, 2015 – For the seventh year in a row, Grantham University, www.grantham.edu, has been named a Military Friendly School® by G.I. Jobs. The list recognizes Grantham as among the top 20 percent of post-secondary institutions that excel in serving men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces as they pursue their educational goals.
Grantham University competed for the elite Military Friendly® School title by completing a survey of over 100 questions covering ten categories. Survey responses were scored against benchmarks across these key indicators of success.
“Our experience in educating our nation’s military service members runs deep, as Grantham University has been serving this distinguished group of individuals for nearly 65 years,” said Steve Waldron, Grantham University chief operating officer. “We are honored to be recognized for embracing military students, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to be successful both in the classroom and after graduation.”
The methodology used for determining the Military Friendly® Schools list has changed the student veteran landscape to one much more transparent, and has played a significant role over the past seven years in capturing and advancing best practices to support military students across the country.
Grantham University was founded by a WWII veteran in 1951 and has supported service members, veterans and spouses since inception. The University’s military-friendly policies for both students and employees has ensured faculty and staff are well-versed in military culture, adult learning strategies, and online education best practices.
Grantham University will be showcased along with other 2016 Military Friendly® Schools in the annual Guide to Military Friendly® Schools, special education issues of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse Magazine, and on MilitaryFriendly.com
