Healthcare Profession Heroes

Right now is perhaps the most important—and stressful—time in a healthcare provider’s career. Grantham's College of Nursing and Health Professions alumni and students are working tirelessly on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic to protect their friends, families and neighbors. Get a glimpse into their world as they utilize their Grantham education to fight the coronavirus.

Cedric + Peaches Turner

Cedric and Lapeachtriss Turner, active duty military and military spouse, first walked across the stage together at their high school graduation. Many years later, after pushing past obstacles and working diligently, they've crossed the stage together again as they earned degrees from Grantham University. "I want to be an example," Cedric says. "When I graduated high school, I tried college. And I didn't think I was quite cut out for college. But I was — I just didn't ever apply myself. So finally, I put everything to the side and focused on studies. And I did it. 10 years! Going back and forth, stopping and quitting. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to put my degree to work."

Rebecca Riddle

Military veteran Rebecca Riddle knew that advancing her civilian career depended on advancing her education. Since earning her master's degree in information technology, Rebecca has been promoted to a leader of a large IT team.

"Completing my master's has opened doors I never thought possible. My career has flourished as a result and I have applied the principles learned during my Grantham studies to build more effective processes within my organization. As a woman in a male-dominated STEM environment, this degree has put me on par with many of my male counterparts in leadership positions and has encouraged others to follow suit."

Ivan Borrelli

Ivan Borrelli, who works for Microsoft in Italy, knew that earning his bachelor's degree in business management from Grantham University would propel him to new heights.

"It was important for me to look for something outside of Italy because I'm part of an international company. Learning is kind of an attitude. Once you have this mindset, you can keep learning every day."

Kaylee Ausbun

Grantham University alumna Kaylee Ausbun reviews the university's flexibility, accommodating instructors and student advising support. As a military service member, she knew that advancing her education would help prepare her for job opportunities after her service.

Matt Beer

Matt Beer enrolled in Grantham's Master of Science in Performance Improvement program because of its real-world impact. "I chose the Master of Science in Performance Improvement because of how relevant it is actually to my current career. I noticed that in writing a lot of my papers, I was using examples for my current work experience that I see on a day-to-day basis. That's one thing that really motivated me."
